Also address Integrity) <br />The Price House is architecturally significant as a substantially intact residential example of the late Colonial Revival. it was <br />built in 1948 for Dc J. B. Melville Price by contractor William A. Rohrbocher. The eight -room residence and garage were <br />valued at $29,680 at the time. Price, who occupied the house with his wife, Margaret, was a surgeon who practiced in Santa <br />Ana for 43 years. Born In Kansas in 1904, Price received his medical degree from Loma Linda University in 1931. Among <br />other distinctions, he served as Chief of Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, California in 1941-1942, was on the <br />governing boards of the American Medical Association and California Medical Association, and was the physician for many <br />years of the then -Santa Ana College football team. Dr. Price retired in 1970 and moved to Yucca Valley in the desert.
