<br />Mr. Michael D. Bustos is responsible for design and construction management of projects such as road-
<br />way reconstructions, drainage improvements, pipelines, pavement rehabilitation, street improvements, and
<br />i grading. Mr. Bustos has served as resident engineer for over a dozen federally- and state -funded projects
<br />over the last five years. He has gained valuable experience In on-site construction management, off-site
<br />construction administration, Inspection, design, and plan checking during his 13 years with Wiidan.
<br />Relevant Project Experience
<br />Trunk Water Replacement, Morongo Band of Mission Indians, Banning, California. Project Engi-
<br />neeriConstruction Manager. Engineer of Record responsible for preparation of plans, specifioations, and
<br />estimate for construction of 16 -Inch water main on Porters, Morongo, and Martin Roads, Mr. Bustos also
<br />served as Construction Manager during construction, and was responsible for contract administration, mate-
<br />rials testing, and public works observation.
<br />Firestone/Atlantic Design, City of South Gate, California. Reclaimed Water Design Engineer, Mr.
<br />Bustos provided construction phase design support for installation of a 10 -inch reclaimed water line on Fire-
<br />stone Blvd. The project was constructed by the City and maintained by Contra[ Basin Municipal Water Dis.
<br />triot, Wilidan provided surveying, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, and utility coordination ser*
<br />vices for street improvements on Firestone Boulevard from Dorothy Avenue to Latta Avenue and on AtlanIto
<br />Avenue from Patata Street to Branyon Avenue. As park of our design services, Wilidan provided final civil
<br />pians, including street design, storm drain, sewer and water relocation, traffic signal modification and instal-
<br />lation, signing and striping, street righting, contract specifications, and engineer's estimate for widening both
<br />Firestone Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, in addition, Wilidan prepared a project report and cost estimates,
<br />Including aerial topography and street centerlines; roadway goometrics, hydrology study; sewer study; water
<br />study; utility relocation concepts; geotechnloal recommendations; turn pocket lengths; landscaping.
<br />Rehabilitation of Well No. 26, City of South Gate, California. Project Engineer. Mr. Bustos assisted while
<br />managing the hydrogeological sub -consultant: Hopkins.Groundwater Consultants, Ino. (Hopkins) in provid-
<br />ing well rehabilitation consultation services to the City. The well had been out of service for three years due
<br />to a sanding problem. When in operation, production from the lower half of the 1,300 feet deep well was
<br />providing only 20 percent of the overall well production. Following initial consultation, Mr. Bustos and Hop-
<br />kins prepared a well condition assessment to allow the City to explore their rehabilitation options, then se -
<br />loot a method that would possibly allow the City to regain production from4he perforated zones of the exist -
<br />Ing casing. Mr. Bustos facilitated well condition assessment and Inspection services during well cleaning
<br />and video survey (aided by Hopkins). The completed wall review provided the City with an accurate as-
<br />sessment of the well's current conditions and recommendations for rehabilitation. Fallowing the well condi-
<br />tions review, and at the request of the City, Mr. Bustos and Hopkins prepared specifications for the City's
<br />preferred rehabilitation method.
