<br />To prudently enforce construction and occupancy laws and promote an attractive environmentfor development by
<br />providing efficient delivery ofplan chock andpermit services.
<br />The Permit and Plan Check Section reviews plans for compliance with the California Building Standards Code for all new
<br />construction, tenant improvements, conversions and repairs to buildings and other structures. This section is responsible for the
<br />enforcement of regulations for fire and life -safety, structural systems, accessibility, energy conservation, flood plain management,
<br />green building, electrical, plurnbing, and mechanical ventilation systems.

<br />Issued over 6,012 permits with a total valuation of approximately $437,159,271
<br />- Serviced approximately 9,112 customers at the Permit Services Counter
<br />- Processed and reviewed the following majorprojects: Heritage Village, Meta Housing, Hampton Inn, AMCAL, Shea Dyer --
<br />Business Pads, Shea Homes, DeNova Homes, 888 N. Main St, Train Station Lofts, Tribella Court by Trumark Homes, City Ventures
<br />Harbor Developments, Behr Paint, Elk's Lodge, Certified Transportation
<br />- Continued standardized training relative to the 2016 California Building Codes
<br />- Collaborated in the scoping and preparation of the Development Services Fee Study
<br />- Continued successful coordination of the City of Santa Ana Fireworks Program for non-profit organizations
<br />- Piloting e -plan review utilizing touch screen and plan review software work station; continued researching and canvassing new
<br />technology for pertaining, plan review, inspections and document management.
<br />- Participated in annual Building Safety Month, Alert OC, and California Great Shake Out safety outreach programs
<br />- Continued workflow/efficiency studies, including standardization of Division Policy & Procedures Manual
<br />- Participated in citywide City Safety and EOC Cormnittees, including ongoing update of PBA department operations center (DOC)

<br />- Manage ongoing update of emergency preparedness plan for PBA, participation on the citywide Safety and EOC Cormnittees, and
<br />administering various building safety public outreach efforts,
<br />- Maintain ongoing work flow/efficiency studies, streamlmdng efforts, and standardization of Division Policy & Procedures Manual,
<br />focusing on alignment of Division activities with citywide strategic plan.
<br />- Acquire resources to achieve industry service level standard of 3 -week turnaround for plan review.
<br />- Endeavour to maintain 10 minute or less average service wait times at the Permit Services Counter.
