2018-19 Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center <br />Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal <br />B. Special consideration will be given to organizations that can prepare youth for targeted in - <br />demand industries as identified in the SAWIB's five-year plan: (Manufacturing/Advanced <br />Manufacturing, Healthcare and associated social services, Hospitality/entertainment and <br />Green/clean/environment). OCCTAC's Youth employment program targets 3 of the in - <br />demand industries stated above 1) Healthcare 2) Social services and 3) Entertainment/Arts, <br />C. Special Consideration for organizations that offer job training/preparation in the industries <br />of: Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math. OCCTAC offers job <br />training/preparation in three of the industries mentioned above: 1) Technology, 2) the Arts <br />and 3) Education/Math. <br />D. List some of the employers that will assist in the paid and unpaid work experience <br />opportunities. Please see below Table 6 for offsite job trainings for our youth. <br />TABLE 6: Mentoring & Job Training Programs OFF SITE <br />PRtjGRAM" <br />DESCRIPTION <br />DYS/TIMES <br />i vtit 5: . <br />Genesis Bridal <br />Administrative Assistant/Customer Service Assistant/Social <br />Monday -Sunday <br />Boutique <br />Media & Outreach: Intern is responsible for making calls to <br />previous and interested clients, conducting outreach events such <br />10:00am-6:00pm <br />as creating and distributing flyers and business cards. Intern is <br />also responsible for speaking with clients by showing them the <br />boutique and answering questions about boutique merchandise. <br />Intern will help with computer programs, such as translation <br />State Farm <br />Administrative Assistant/Customer Service: <br />Monday -Friday <br />Insurance <br />Intern is responsible for answering phone calls and directing them <br />to their designated department. Intern is also responsible for <br />8:00am-5:00pm <br />printing, organizing, and filing documents. Intern will be <br />responsible for assisting clients with questions on insurance and <br />providing an overview. <br />Teresa's Jewelers <br />Administrative Assistant/Customer Service: Intern is responsible <br />Monday -Saturday <br />for making calls to previous and interested clients and inform on <br />merchandise. Intern is also responsible for answering phone calls <br />9:00pm-6:00pm <br />and providing assistance to clients and directing them to the <br />necessary department. Intern will also work with clients in person <br />and assist with any questions about jewelry merchandise. <br />Chick-Fil-A <br />Team Member: Guest service job duties include greeting <br />Monday -Saturday <br />customers, taking customer orders, and completing transactions <br />on the cash register. Food preparation duties consist of cooking <br />6:30am-10:00pm <br />food and assembling sandwiches. Additional team member duties <br />include operating the drive-thru window, unloading deliveries, <br />and maintaining a clean store environment. <br />Youth on the Move <br />Administrative Assistant/ Social Media Intern: <br />Monday -Friday <br />Education <br />Intern is responsible for computer literacy, updating social media, <br />International <br />making phone calls to participants to update contact information, <br />8:00am-6:00pm <br />and some fundraising. Intern is also responsible for clerical duties <br />such as filing documents, answering phone calls and <br />scrapbooking. <br />10 <br />
