Huitt-Zollors was retained by Orange County Public Works to prepare letter of Design <br />Recommendations (LODR) and final construction plans, specifications and estimates <br />for the improvement of the Oso Parkway / Antonio Parkway intersection in South Orange <br />County. The E2 million project's purpose was to improve the capacity of this intersection <br />to accommodate Increased traffic resulting from continued new residential development <br />throughout the region. The <br />under-utilized site contained 1950's era motel, mobile home park, retail/commercial <br />and light manufacturing uses. This mixed use project will ultimately include 1,500 <br />residential units with row -houses, podium stacked flats, live -work units and luxuryhigh <br />rise condominiums and luxury hotels. Four parking lots have already been designed <br />which Included aesthetic, decorative lighting, water quality, space, enhanced paving, <br />vehicular, pedestrian and disabled access, as well as drainage challenges. In each <br />case, both a functional and aesthetically pleasing built environment resulted.
