SCOPE OF SERVICES
WATER RESOURCES (OPTION A)
Our Scope of Services incorporates the tasks Identified by
the City In the RFP, and as expanded below,
Well Rehaloliitaticn
PHASE 1 - WELL RECONNAISSANCE
1. Dynamic Well Evaluation
a. Perform Aquifer PUMPing Tests
In order to evaluate the current health of the well,
and to provide a baseline from which to measure the
effectiveness of the Phase 11'work, aquifer pumping tests
should be performed These tests will provide current
well and aquifer characterlstlos along with providing
sand readings over time from start of pumping, Recovery
measurements should be collected for a minimum of two
(2) hours following the constant rate pumping test, The
recommended aquifer pumping tests are so follows;
Step Drawdown PumpingTeat's -to determine specific
capacity and Well efficiency relationships, Typically
three to four rates are selected for pumping beginning
at the lowest rate and working up to the highest.
• Constant Rate Pumping Test & Recovery Test. time
drowdown and recovery measurements will be
made to determine aquifer parameters such as
transmissivity and storativity. it is recommended that
the constant rate test be conducted for a minimum of
12 hours with 2 hours of recovery measurements,
Our subconsultant, GEOSCIENCE will provide full-time
inspection during pumping and recovery tests.
2.5tatio Well Evaluation
a. Remove Existing Pump and Equipment From well
GEOSCIENCE has teemed with Best Drilling and Pump,
Inc. (Bost) to perform work associated with removal of
equipment from the well. Best will remove the existing
pumps, motors, and oolumn pipes from the well and store
this equipment In the immediate area around the well
site. Attire completion of all activities, Best will reinstall
the pump and equipment to their original depths. Our cost
proposal for this task includes Contractor fees.
b. Perform Initial Video Inspection
Once the pump is removed, Pacific Surveys, LLC (Pacific)
under the supervision of GEOSCIENCE personnel, will
perform a dual -scan downhole video survey of the well,
The purpose of the video surveys will be to document the
current condition and look for areas of damage and/or
plugging In the well screen. GEOSCIENCE will provide full-
time inspection during each video survey. The cost for the
surveying Contractor is included in the proposal.
S. Results and recommendations
At the conclusion of the Phase I evaluation, GEOSCIENCE
will prepare a letter reportthat summarizes the details and
results of the work performed, This report will inolude:
. Chronology of field activitlas,
° Analysis of aquifer pumping tests,
• Evaluation of current well conditicns, and
• Recommendations for further rahabilitation
procedures.
The letter report will be presented to the City In 100%
DRAFT electronic format for review end comment. City
comments will be incorporated and GEOSCIENCE will
issue a 100% FINAL version in electronic format, as well
as three (0) hard copies. For cost estimating purposes, it
Is assumed that one round of comments will be addressed
before a : Q0% FINAL verslon Is prepared.
PHASE 11 - WELL REHABIUTATiON
Based on the results of the activitles described in Phase
I, some or all of the following tasks may be appropriate
for the proper rehabilitation of the Well. Regardless of
what tasks are decided upon, it will be necessary for
the City to contract directly With a licensed. C•57 drilling
Contractor to perform this work, The following scope Items
are for GEOSCIENCE to assiat the City with procuring a
qualified Contractor and providing field supervision during
Contractor activities.
1, Project Construction Management
GEOSCIENCE will provide construction management
services during Phase II of the well rehabilitation to ensure
that, all aspects of the project are carried out in a proper
and efficient manner. Construction management activities
will Include, but not limited to, attending a pre -construction
meeting with prospective Contractors, responding to
Contractor RFi's, review of Contractor submittals and
Invoices, review of change order requests, and providing
status updates to City personnel. In addition we will ensuro
that all work is performed to the satisfaction of regulatory
agencies. In addition, GEOSCIENCE will assist, as
necessary, with the procurement of any permitting required
to perform this work, including NPDES requirements.
2. Pre;Coneiructlon Meeting and Pre -Mobilization f,
coordination with Contractor <<a
