i <br />-_ City of Santa Ana <br />4.1.2 Vehicle Communications <br />A. 800 MHz Mobile Radio <br />Contractors must install and maintain at their sole cost and <br />expense, an OCFA approved 800MHz mobile radio in the front <br />passenger area (with a remote head in the rear patient area) of each <br />ambulance that will be used for patient transport in the performance of <br />the contract. The 800MHz mobile radios with a pre -identified radio <br />identifier and at the discretion of the OCFA, configured to send status <br />and message data, are to be used by Contractors' EMTs and ambulance <br />personnel to communicate response status with OCFA dispatch and by <br />OCFA paramedics to communicate with base and receiving hospitals <br />during patient transport. Contractors must comply with the following 800 <br />MHz mobile radio requirements: <br />L Contractors must obtain all necessary licenses, permits, <br />and/or approvals from OCG (and any other applicable <br />licensing or permitting agency) to operate and maintain their <br />800 MHz mobile radios as required herein in conjunction with <br />the 800 MHz C.C.C.S.; <br />ii. Contractors must comply with all federal, state, and local laws, <br />rules, statutes, and regulations governing the operation of 800 <br />MHz mobile radios, including compliance with 800 MHz <br />C.C.C.S. Standard Operating Procedures; <br />iii. Contractors must ensure that their 800 MHz mobile radios are <br />pre -assigned to a vehicle with a pre -identified radio identifier <br />and are configured to send status and message data <br />compatible with OCFA SmartNet Information Management <br />System (SIMS), and must include an OCFA approved and <br />issued Motorola DEKbox with 8 status/message keys to <br />transmit unit status (e.g., en route, on scene, and available <br />status functions); OCFA will configure the SIMS system to <br />City of Santa Ana Page 136 <br />Fire/EMS Emergency Ambulance Transportation and Related Services <br />Request for Proposals: # 18-059 <br />August 28, 2018 <br />WO I A t <br />
