Jail Facility Condition Assessment and Evaluation Report <br />Santa Ana City Jail Reuse Feasibility Study <br />The Santa Ana City Jail was completed in 1997 and provides housing for pretrial and sentenced male / <br />female inmates. It is operated as a Type II adult detention facility that mainly houses individuals held on <br />state and federal charges. The detention facility has a maximum physical bed capacity of 512 inmates. <br />There are 224 double occupancy cells for a total of 448 beds used for general population. There are 32 <br />single cells for the administrative segregation (Ad Seg) and disciplinary Isolation population. There are <br />two dormitories that house 32 inmates combined. <br />The Santa Ana City Jail is managed by the Santa Ana City Jail Bureau who helps fulfill the law <br />enforcement efforts of the Santa Ana Police Department. They meet the incarceration needs of the <br />Department, supplying direct and indirect law enforcement assistance, and provide for the safe, secure, <br />and humane housing of incarcerated individuals.
