This includes developing resources (including policies <br />and procedures, training programs, and communication tools) for:and provid- <br />ingsupport (including operatingthe Ethics Line, conducting program assess- <br />ment, -and providing advice) to CARE colleagues. <br />Another Important resource who can address is- <br />sues arising out of this'Code. of Conduct is'the.Hu- <br />man Resources Director„ who'Is highlyknowledgea- <br />bie about many of the compliance risk areas de- <br />scribed in this Code of. Conduct that pertain* to em- <br />ployment and the workplace and is responsible.for <br />ensuring compliance with various employment <br />laws. <br />If a concern relates to specific details of an Individ- <br />ual's work situation, rather than larger issues of or- <br />ganizational compliance, the Human Resources Di- <br />rector Is the most appropriate person to contact. in <br />that we promote the concept of management au- <br />tonomy, every effort should be made to resolve workplace conduct and em- <br />ployment practice Issues through the, Individual'ssupervisor or other man- <br />agement personnel. Experience has shown that,this'is an effective and pro- <br />ductive way to deal promptly with these.matters: <br />Setting Standards <br />With respect to our Compliance Program, CARE sets standards.through this <br />Code of Conduct, ethics and compliance policies and procedures and, occa- <br />sionally, through other guidance mechanisms_, such as compliance alerts and <br />advisory memoranda: It is the responsibility of each CARE colleague -to be <br />aware of those policies and.procedures that.pertain to his or.her.work and to <br />follow those policies and procedures. <br />Training and-Communicatlon <br />Comprehensive training and education has been developed by CARE to en- <br />sure that colleagues throughout the•organization are aware of the standards <br />that apply to them.
