City of Santa Ana Addendum to the
MainPlace Mall Transformation Proiect Fashion Square Commercial Center Final EIR
buildings and impacts related to the need for communication systems would be less
than significant. No new impact would occur.
Water
The proposed Project would redevelop the Project site, which is currently served by the
City's water infrastructure. The existing water infrastructure that serves the Project area:
• A 16-inch water line in Main Street, terminating at the north leg of Main Place
Drive
• A 16-inch water line in the south leg of Main Place Drive from Main Street to the
southwest mall entry drive
• A 12-inch water line in the north leg of Main Place Drive from Main Street to the
north leg of the on -site private ring road.
• A 16-inch water line under 1-5, connecting to the Main Place Drive main at the
southwest corner of the Project site
A 16-inch water line in southwest private drive entry from Main Place Drive to the
on -site private ring road.
A 16-inch water line in south private drive entry (the Broadway extension) from
Main Place Drive to the on -site private ring road.
A 12-inch water line in the on -site ring road, looping around the Project site.
In addition, the City also has approximately 15 fire hydrants near the Project site and
approximately 24 water meters serving the site.
The proposed Project would install new water infrastructure on the Project site that
would connect to the existing offsite water lines. The new onsite water system would
convey water supplies to the proposed buildings and landscaping through
plumbing/landscaping fixtures that are compliant with the CalGreen Plumbing Code for
efficient use of water. The existing offsite infrastructure has the capacity to provide the
increased water supplies needed to serve the proposed Project, and no extensions or
expansions to the water pipelines that convey water to the site would be required. The
construction activities related to the onsite water infrastructure is similar to that which
was evaluated in the 1983 EIR, and similarly, impacts related to water infrastructure
would be less than significant. No new impact would occur.
A Water Supply Assessment (WSA) was prepared for the Specific Plan, included as
Appendix H, which summarized the anticipated water demands and identified supplies
set forth in the City's 2015 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP). As shown in Table
PSU-1, the WSA identifies that buildout of the proposed Project would result in a water
demand of 552,000 gallons per day.
EEO
