Leighton and Associates, Inc
A LEIGHTON GROUP COMPANY
October31, 2018
(Revised January 7, 2019)
Project No. 12126.001
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.
765 The City Drive, Suite 200
Orange, California 92868
Attention: Ms. Margit Allen
Subject: Geologic and Seismic Hazards Review
MainPlace Mall Transformation Project
2800 N. Main Place Street
City of Santa Ana, Orange County, California
In accordance with your request and authorization, Leighton and Associates, Inc.
(Leighton) has conducted a geologic and seismic hazards review in support of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the proposed MainPlace Mall
Transformation Project located at 2800 N. Main Street in the City of Santa Ana, Orange
County, California. The purpose of this study has been to assess potential geological
and geotechnical impacts or constraints with respect to the proposed project.
It is our understanding that the current concept for transformation of the site is to reduce
the square footage of entitles but not constructed office and retail uses to allow for the
addition of residential uses on the site. The proposed redevelopment concept includes
several new multi -level multi -family residential buildings, hotels, retail, office buildings
and parking structures.
Our work has been performed following the California Geological Survey's Guidelines
for Geologic/Seismic Consideration in CEQA's. Based on the results of our current
study, no major geologic conditions have been identified that would preclude
development of the site for the intended use as currently planned. This report
summarizes our findings and conclusions, and presents design considerations to
17781 Cowan • Irvine, CA92614-6009
949.250.1421 - 949.250.1114 Fax
