A-2017-324-02 <br />INSURANCE NOT REQUIRED <br />WORK MAY PROCEED <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL <br />""" JUN 1 9 2019 <br />49 AGREEMENT OF EXTENSION <br />0" 1:44Z, (0) BETWEEN <br />ct •.., � I <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AND <br />SANTA ANA CITY EMPLOYEES, CHAPTER 19391 <br />SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 721 <br />This Agreement of Extension ("Agreement") between the City of Santa Ana ("City") and the <br />Santa Ana City Employees Association, Chapter 1939/Service Employees International Union <br />Local 721 ("Union") (collectively "Parties") is entered into with respect to the following: <br />WHEREAS, the parties' current Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with a term of <br />July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2018 is set to expire at the end of calendar year <br />2018; and <br />WHEREAS, the City budgets and operates on a fiscal calendar; <br />WHEREAS, this Agreement only applies to the Union's Full -Time Unit in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the Parties' mutual agreement, the following sets forth the <br />Parties' agreements: <br />1. The Pates agree to extend the existing 2017-2018 MOU, including all terms and <br />conditions thereof, for a period of six (6) months, through June 30, 2019, to align with <br />the fiscal year. <br />2. The City agrees that notwithstanding the language in Article 9.0 - Vacation, Section <br />9.2 F (2) of the 2017-2018 MOU between the parties regarding the cap on the annual <br />carryover of vacation time allowed, the practice of unit employees being allowed to <br />continue to accrue vacation in excess of the stated maximum cap of up to four <br />hundred (400) hours shall continue until such time that a successor MOU is <br />negotiated and/or impasse procedures have been exhausted. Such excess vacation <br />is identified as "must use" vacation. <br />3, Any further extensions must be in writing and signed by all authorized parties, <br />CITY T� <br />Page I of 2 <br />
