APPENDIX <br />ATTACHMENT�Y MAINTENANCE TASKS <br />Co rta m ination Procedures <br />Ifs custodial employee Finds non -recyclable items in a work station recycling receptacle, the custodial <br />employee shall remove the item from the recycling stream, place it in the trash or organics stream, and <br />leave a 'Recycling Reminder' note on the desk of the employee who placed an unacceptable item in the <br />recycling receptacle. Upon award, the City will provide a sufficient amount of printed 'Recycling <br />Reminder' notes. and list of acceptable and non acceptable items to the Contractor. Contractor will be <br />responsible for placing the notes when contamination is Identified. The Contractor will be responsible <br />for assuring all janitorial closets are stocked with 'Recycling Reminder' cotes, training custodial staff on <br />the contamination procedures, and notifying City staff of when there is a low inventory of 'Recycling <br />Remhtder' notes. <br />Collection Protocols <br />Receptacles are to be cleaned as needcd eadt time, Boxes, cans, paper, and other recyclable items marked <br />'trash' or 'recycling' shall be removed and recycled, Cardboard boxes and cartons are to be broken down <br />fiat prior to being placed in the recycling bins, All collected reoyclables from such workstation <br />receptacles shall be removed from the area and deposited in a designated single -stream recycling in such <br />a manner so as to prevent the adjacent area from becoming littered by said trash. <br />(�rt!anic Waste R�cvcliaae Proreram <br />Further, if organic waste recycling service is available at a City facility, City employees will be required <br />to dispose of organic food scrap items, such as food waste, food -soiled paper, and other organic materials <br />collected by tile City's rubbish hauler, at designated organics recycling receptacles located. in breakrooms <br />and areas where food waste is generated. All breakrooms at city facilities that have organics recycling <br />service will contain organics recycling receptacles for use by City employees. <br />The selected contractor will be required to empty all organic waste recycling receptacles on a daily basis <br />and return the recepUclos to their initial location, The contents of the organic waste recycling receptacles <br />shall be consolidated and deposited in the facilities' organfcs. rar �g i d'umpster or cart. Organic waste <br />recycling receptacles must have plastic liners. Organic waste materials contained in plastic liners M <br />acceptable in the City facility orgattios recycling program and grata be placed in die organic waste <br />recycling dumpsters and/or carts serviced by the .City's rubbish hauler. <br />> as Cvllaetivn Protocols <br />City employees will be required to dispose of non -recyclable and non -organic waste items, such as lvlylar <br />chip bags, broken glass, rubber gloves, etc, at designated trash receptacles located in breakrooms and <br />restrooms, All trash receptacles shall be emptied daily and returned to their initial location. This shall <br />include those trash receptacles located in work stations, patios, balconies, parking areas, and centralized. <br />areas, as well as any placed outside entry doors. Receptacles are to be cleaned as needed each time, All <br />collected trash from such receptacles shall be removed fiam the area and deposited in a designatmi trash <br />dumpstor nr trash receptacle in such a maltncr so as to prevent the adjaoont area from becoming littered <br />by said trash. Soiled or tom trash receptacle liners shall be replaced with a new liner. Liners shall be <br />replaced in such a manner as to present a neat aard uniform appearance.
