ONE OTHER FACTnu TO CONSIDER <br />The average commute for Pasadena residents is 23.6 miles, according to recent census figures. <br />Optimistically assuming a 30 mile per gallon car and $2.00 per gallon gas, each Pasadena <br />resident, on average, is spending about $1.57 per day for gasoline to drive to work, or $376.80 <br />per year. Even with $1.00 per gallon gas, the daily drive to and from work would cost the <br />average Pasadena commuter $.78 per day or $187.20 per year, without accounting for <br />automobile depreciation and maintenance expenses. That same commute, at average speeds <br />equals slightly more than 50.6 minutes per day of time lost by each Pasadena based worker, <br />again according to U.S. Census Bureau figures.
