An incumbent who was employed as of August 16, 1991 in the classification of <br />Assistant Plan Check Engineer I or II, Associate Plan Check Engineer, or Senior <br />Plan Check Engineer and who, as of December 31, 1997, had possessed a valid <br />Plan Examiner Certificate issued by the ICBO shall continue to be paid at a rate set <br />ten (10) salary rate ranges (approximately five percent (5.0%) above his/her then. <br />current base salary step. <br />However, effective January 1,1988, said ten (10) range differential shall be reduced <br />to five (5) salary rate ranges (approximately two and one-half percent (2.5%), for <br />any incumbent of said classifications who is issued his/her initial certificate on or <br />after January 1, 1988. <br />C. An incumbent in one of the classifications listed below who possesses a valid <br />certificate issued by the ICBO, (or similar nationally recognized certificating <br />organization) in the area(s) of building inspection, combination inspection, <br />electrical inspection, mechanical inspection, plumbing inspection, combination <br />dwelling inspection, plan examining, accessibility/usability (one (1) specialty area), <br />residential energy plan check, or non-residential energy plan check, shall be paid <br />an incentive pay differential at a rate set above his/her then current base monthly <br />salary step in accordance with the schedule listed below. <br />Incumbents who possess a valid certificate issued by the ICBO in combination <br />inspection may substitute this for building inspection or combination dwelling <br />inspection; however, incumbents shall not receive incentive pay for more than two <br />(2) of these three (3) certificates. <br />2019-2022 MOU City of Santa Ana & SEW Full -Time Employees Unit Page 32 <br />
