Using the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) assumed rate <br />that the diagnosis rate is 87.7% (that is 12.3% of the population is living with HIV/AIDS, but has not yet <br />been diagnosed), the total estimate of persons living with HIV/AIDS in Orange County is 7,262. In 2018, <br />280 cases were diagnosed in Orange County, a decline of 20 diagnosed cases from 2017. Since 2009, the <br />transmission rate has decreased by 46% from a rate of 8.2 to that of 4.4 in 2018. <br />Of those known to be living with HIV/AIDS in Orange County, 86.7% are men, 11.8%are women and 1.5% <br />are transgender male to female. 48% of those diagnosed identify as Hispanic/Latino, 36% identify as <br />White, 8% identify as Asian and 6% identify as Black/ African American. <br />According to the CoC's 2019 Point in Time Count, 67 unsheltered and 39 sheltered individuals are <br />diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. <br />Consolidated Plan SANTA ANA 77 <br />OMB control No: 2506-0117(exp. 06/30/2018) 75A-85 <br />
