Hemet, CA <br />V&A Consulting Engineers, Inc. (V&A) was <br />retained by West Yost Associates for condition <br />assessment services to support the Eastern <br />Municipal Water District (District) in a condition <br />assessment of the Cawston Lift Station (LS). <br />Located in Hemet, California, the Cawston LS was <br />built in 1976 and is currently out of service. The <br />design pumping capacity is 4.6 million gallons <br />per day. The areas included in the assessment of <br />the Cawston LS were the engine and generator <br />room, the pump room, the wet well, and the <br />exterior of the building. Condition assessment <br />methods included visual assessment. concrete <br />surface testing (sounding, penetration, crack <br />widths, pH), surface penetrating radar to <br />remotely determine reinforcement placement, <br />coating thickness measurements, and ultrasonic <br />thickness testing of metal components, V&A <br />developed a condition assessment Technical <br />Memorandum presenting the findings and <br />recommendations. <br />Encina Wastewater Authority dater Pollution <br />Control Facility 201.9 Condition Assessments. <br />Carlsbad, CA <br />V&A Consulting Engineers (V&A) was retained by <br />Encina Wastewater Authority (EWA) to perform a <br />condition assessment of various facilities at the <br />Encina Water Pollution Control Facility (EWPCF) in <br />Carlsbad. CA. The EWPCF is a conventional <br />activated sludge wastewater treatment plant with <br />a liquid capacity of 40.5 MGD. The goal of the <br />project is to provide recommendations for facility <br />rehabilitation and/or replacement to allow EWA <br />to plan for capital improvement projects. <br />Condition assessments will be performed on the <br />primary sedimentation basins, CEPT chemical <br />feed and storage area, air handling units,screw <br />conveyors, heat exchangers, odor reduction <br />facilities biotowers, return activated sludge box <br />structures, and the secondary drainage and <br />scum storage pit V&A will develop remaining <br />useful life (RUL) estimates, recommendations to <br />extend RUL, recommendations for replacement, <br />and cost estimates. <br />Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) <br />District -Wide Utility Infrastructure Condition <br />Assessment. Los Angeles, CA <br />V&A Consulting Engineers (V&A) was retained by <br />Cardno, Inc. for Condition Assessment (CA) <br />services to support the Los Angeles Community <br />College District (LACCD) across all nine of their <br />campuses. The purpose of the project was to <br />assist LACCD with the future improvement project <br />planning, including budget and estimation of life <br />expectancy as well as the cost of repair or <br />replacement of various utilities throughout the <br />district.
