The project includes two and half miles of protected <br />bike lane facilities along various streets in the City's downtown area. This project is one of first <br />protected bike lane projects of this magnitude in Orange County. The project consists of bike signals, <br />pedestrian walkway improvements, traffic calming features, ADA improvements, signing and striping, <br />and landscape and irrigation design. The project has involved extensive coordination during the design <br />phase with all stakeholders including the Orange County Transportation Authority for the OC Streetcar <br />project within the same area. The Kimley-Horn team provided the City with alternatives for the design of <br />the bike lanes to provide more protection for all modes of transportation including vehicular, pedestrian, <br />and public transit. <br />Year Completed: Ongoing <br />Client Name: City of Santa Ana <br />Client Reference: Sean Thomas, <br />714.647.5655 <br />South Main Street Corridor Improvements, Santa Ana, CA <br />Kimley-Horn is assisting the City of Santa Ana in <br />transforming their existing South Main Street into <br />a revitalized corridor. The project involves creating <br />solutions for street beautification, traffic safety, walkability, <br />bike circulation, environmental sustainability, security, <br />and neighborhood amenities. The project's specific <br />goals include re -branding the South Main Street <br />Business District with a consistent theme to promote <br />the neighborhood for future developments; enhancing <br />streetscape aesthetics with landscape and hardscape <br />features to create a more inviting and pleasant urban <br />area; improving street walkable paths with pedestrian <br />safety, curb ramps, crosswalks, and other ADA features; encouraging the use of alternative <br />transportation such as walking, biking, and public transit; improving accessibility to local businesses <br />by providing on street parking; creating a low impact and sustainable design for improvements while <br />considering environmental issues; and enhancing corridor safety and security by adding high visibility <br />crosswalks and pedestrian level street lights. <br />Year Completed: Ongoing Client Reference: Suzi Furjanic, <br />Client Name: City of Santa Ana 714.571.4241 <br />OC Streetcar Peer Review, Orange County, CA <br />Kimley-Horn is providing peer review of the streetcar design for various technical areas such as track <br />alignment, grade crossings, stations, signalization, OCS, TPSS, constructability, basic operations and <br />overall coordination of the proposed corridor with bicycles, pedestrians, buses and other vehicles. <br />The OC Streetcar will increase transportation options and provide greater access to a 4.15-mile route <br />along Santa Ana Boulevard, 4th Street, and the Pacific Electric right-of-way to Harbor Boulevard <br />in Garden Grove. <br />Year Completed: Ongoing <br />Client Name: City of Santa Ana <br />Client Reference: Jason Gabriel, <br />714.647.5664 <br />City of Santa Ana .
