T. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT <br />The contractor shall make a reasonable effort to purchase equipment and materials in the City of Santa <br />Ana and to utilize Santa Ana vendors. Such efforts shall be provided to the City. The City shall have <br />the ability to provide a list of possible Santa Ana vendors to the Contractor. The City has the option to <br />purchase and provide materials. The City has the option to purchase special material or the City will <br />reimburse the Contractor for purchase of special material only after authorization by the City. <br />III. DEFINITIONS <br />1. City — shall mean City of Santa Ana and representatives of the City of Santa Ana, i.e. Police <br />Department or Public Works Agency. <br />2. Contractor Holidays — New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, <br />Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day or as designated by the City. <br />3. Inclement Weather — weather conditions that prohibit the effective operation of parking control <br />enforcement operations. <br />4. Street — all paved dedicated public rights -of -way within the existing or future City limits. <br />5. Parking Enforcement Supervisor — an employee of the contractor with supervisory authority over <br />the Parking Enforcement Checkers and possesses the requisite authority to make decisions, <br />respond to complaints on behalf of the company and engage designees from the City regarding any <br />service concerns. As an ancillary duty, a Parking Enforcement Supervisor may perform the duties <br />of a Parking Enforcement Checker as outlined in this RFP including the enforcement of designated <br />sections of the Santa Ana Municipal Code or the California Vehicle Code as authorized by the Chief <br />of Police or traffic control. <br />6. Parking Enforcement Checker — an employee of the contractor assigned to perform the duties <br />outlined in this RFP including the enforcement of designated sections of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code or the California Vehicle Code as authorized by the Chief of Police or traffic control. <br />City of Santa Ana Police Department <br />Request for Proposals for Parking Control Enforcement Services #18-033 <br />Page 17 <br />
