DISCUSS AND CONSIDER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO DEVELOP <br />OPTIONS THAT WOULD ENCOURAGE HOUSING CONSTRUCTION IN AN EFFORT <br />TO OVERCOME THE NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF THE PANDEMIC ON OUR <br />ECONOMY – Councilmember Bacerra, Mayor Pro Tem Villegas and Mayor Pulido <br /> <br />Public Comments: <br /> <br />Steve La Motte, Executive Officer of the Building Industry Association of Southern <br />California, Inc., expressed concern with expanding the Housing Opportunity Ordinance <br />and expressed support on any effort to lessen the fee burden, and find ways of <br />incentivizing housing in the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />John Hanna, representative of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, spoke in <br />support of the theme of Item 85A and recommends that Santa Ana look at options that <br />would encourage both residential and commercial construction to overcome the <br />negative impacts and provide long term revenue. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 18 JUNE 2, 2020 <br /> <br />
