Orozco, Norma
From:
Jacqueline Tran <jackie.tran@gmail.com>
Sent:
Monday, August 17, 2020 5:29 PM
To:
eComment
Subject:
Housing Opportunity Ordinance Vote
Dear Santa Ana City Council members,
As a community member who works in partnership with many organizations and residents in Santa
Ana, I would like to strongly urge you to vote against amendments that will weaken the Housing
Opportunities Ordinance (HOO) and will hurt Santa Ana residents.
I ask that you:
Maintain the Affordable Housing In Lieu Fee at $15 a square foot;
The HOO should be a City wide planning ordinance that applies to housing development;
The HOO should continue to prioritize new affordable housing construction to increase the
supply of affordable housing units in Santa Ana; and
The HOO Housing funds should only be used to create new affordable housing.
Affordable quality housing is difficult enough for residents in Santa Ana. In these challenging times,
policy decisions should not be made that further negatively impact residents for future years. Please
consider voting against the proposed amendments to the HOO, it is not in the best interest of the
hard working residents of Santa Ana. Please support our residents and families.
Respectfully,
Jacqueline Tran, DrPH, MPH
