<br /> <br />Jessie Lopez spoke on the comment process, asked the city to reach out to various <br />organizations as it pertains to Item 19E, and expressed support of the renewal of the <br />Deportation Defense Funds under Item 65D. <br /> <br />Selina Gallegas spoke in support of 55A and 55B, expressed opposition to Item 65A, in <br />support of 65C and provided feedback, expressed opposition to increasing SAPD's <br />budget and reallocation into city parks. Also, expressed support of Item 85A and spoke <br />on various other topics. <br /> <br />Katie Newman spoke on various topics, expressed concern with public safety, urged <br />review of funding, and expressed support of the Deportation Defense Fund. <br /> <br />Julio Arana expressed concern regarding current down payment assistance program <br />and asked that the city restructure the program. <br /> <br />Roberto Herrera spoke on the public comment process, on Item 65D expressed <br />opposition SAPD's budget, and spoke on various topics. <br /> <br />Citlali Ruiz spoke on Item 65D and requested to defund the police. <br /> <br />Angel spoke on Item 65D and expressed opposition to police funding. <br /> <br />Jesus Santana, with Resilience Orange County, spoke regarding Item 65D, requested <br />investment in the People's Platform: universal representation, Immigration Defense <br />Fund, rental relief, tenant defense funds, and affordable housing. <br /> <br />Carlos spoke on Item 65D, in support of defunding the police, requested police training, <br />and expressed concern with lack of programs for homelessness. <br /> <br />Laura Perez spoke on Item 65D and expressed support of reallocation of police funding <br />into investment in youth. <br /> <br />Mayor Pulido asked City Manager to present the citywide budget, Item 65D. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />MOTION: Approve staff recommendations on the following Consent Calendar <br />items: Items 13A through 55B. <br /> <br />Motion to Approve the Consent Calendar Items with the exception of <br />items:13A,19E, 25A, 55A and 55B. moved by Councilmember Sarmiento seconded by <br />Councilmember Bacerra. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sarmiento motioned to approve the consent calendar items with the <br />following modifications, seconded by Councilmember Bacerra. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 8 JULY 7, 2020 <br /> <br />
