Course Descriptions <br />Lower Division Occupational, Technical and Other Courses <br />BUS101:Introduction This course is an introduction to business administration and management, marketing, <br />to Business finance, human resources, and economics in the American marketplace. Aspects of <br />business, including the relationship of business to the social, economic, and political worlds <br />will be covered. The history of the American economy, and a comparison of the free <br />enterprise system to other economic systems, will be discussed. Considers scope, function <br />and organization of business, including principles and practices, with an integrated global <br />perspective. <br />Prerequisite: None <br />40 Hours Lecture <br />4.0 Quarter Credits <br />BUS201: Business This course is designed for all business students and provides students with basic skills and <br />Mathematics understanding of mathematics including practices and the use of common formulas. Also, <br />this course will assist students in reaching a level of increased competence in mathematics <br />and expanded understanding of the applications of mathematical concepts in business <br />activities. Emphasis is placed upon learning mathematical concepts through practical <br />application to common business problems. A review of basic math functions is provided <br />with emphasis on practical mathematical problems. The course will familiarize students with <br />basic math theory emphasizing those components making up a business accounting <br />formula. Basic equations and techniques will be covered while Proficiency is developed in <br />performing business mathematical operations using computer. <br />Prerequisite: None <br />40 Hours Lecture <br />4.0 Quarter Credits <br />BUS202: Management This course presents the principles of communication within an organization, both verbal <br />Communications and written.
