Program Specific Admissions Requirements: <br />Applicants for Phlebotomy Technician I must have: <br />Proof of High School graduation is required for this program. A standard high school diploma or <br />General Education Development (GED) certificate is required. Additionally, when applying for <br />state licensure with the Department of Health Services, students must have their sealed official <br />high school transcripts or GED certificate sent directly the Department of Health Services. As <br />part of the licensure application process, the Department of Health Services requires foreign <br />transcripts to be evaluated by a current members of the National Association of Credential <br />Evaluation Services (NACES) or endorsed members of the Association of International <br />Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). Phlebotomy Technician I students will also be subject to a <br />background check by the Department of Health Services before as part of the licensure eligibility <br />determination. <br />Applicants for admission into the Clinical Medical Assistant Program must have: <br />1. A standard High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate with <br />proof of graduation. An applicant who is not a high school graduate or has not passed the GED <br />may be admitted upon successfully passing an ATB examination. <br />Applicants for admission into the Emergency Medical Technician Program must have: <br />1. A standard High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate with <br />proof of graduation. <br />2. The student must at all times maintain a current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider <br />certification from the American Heart Association, or a Professional Rescuer certificate from the <br />American Red Cross. No other certifying or training entity nor their curriculum will be accepted. <br />Applicants for admission into the Nurse Assistant Training Program must have: <br />1. A standard High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate with <br />proof of graduation. An applicant who is not a high school graduate or has not passed the GED <br />may be admitted upon successfully passing an ATB examination. <br />2. Must pass a criminal background check on or before the first day of class via Live Scan. <br />3. A medical history and physical examination signed by the examiner indicating that the student <br />does not have any health condition that would create a hazard to themselves, fellow employees, <br />or patients and must be done within 90 days prior to the start date of the program. <br />4. A test for tuberculosis infection that is recommended by the federal Centers for Disease Control <br />and Prevention (CDC) and licensed by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA), unless <br />medically contraindicated. If a positive test result is obtained, a chest x-ray shall be taken, unless <br />medically contraindicated. This test must be done within 90 days prior to the start date of the <br />program. <br />Applicants for admission into the Veterinary Assistant program must have: <br />1. A standard High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate with <br />proof of graduation. An applicant who is not a high school graduate or has not passed the <br />GED may be admitted upon successfully passing an ATB examination. <br />Ability to Benefit (ATB) Admissions Policies <br />Ability to Benefit (ATB) admission is available on a limited basis and is available for the <br />following programs only: Clinical Medical Assistant, Nurse Assistant Training Program and <br />Veterinary Assistant. <br />Additionally, all applicants must complete an interview with a school representative to determine <br />desire, ability and commitment, receive a tour of the campus and review the school catalog. Once <br />an applicant has passed the ATB examination, the applicant may then complete and sign an <br />Enrollment Agreement. <br />10 <br />
