VETERINARY ASSISTANT (VA) <br />Veterinary Assistant (VA) <br />The Veterinary Assistant course is 12 weeks in length (including externship hours), and a total of <br />260 clock hours is required for completion. This course assists graduates with skills needed for <br />entry-level positions such as a Veterinary Assistant in a variety of settings including animal <br />hospitals, veterinary clinics, animal shelters, and laboratories. Lectures are held four days/evenings <br />per week for five weeks. Students must also complete 100 externship hours at a veterinary facility <br />approved by the Program Director. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will <br />receive a Certificate of Completion as a Veterinary Assistant.
