• MODERN -TECHNOLOGY SCHOOL - SCHOOL CATALOG • <br />ACADEMIC POLICIES continued..... <br />PROBATION POLICY <br />Student will be placed on 30-day probation for any of the following reasons: <br />Academic If at any time during the program, a student is failing any component or module of the <br />program. For the purpose of this probation, failing will be considered having less than a <br />70% GPA for any single component or module of the program. <br />A student will be placed on probation in the event that he/she fails three examinations on <br />the first administration of the examinations orfails to take three consecutive examinations <br />on the first administration. This probation will be instituted regardless ofre-take/make-up <br />examination grades. <br />Attendance Attendance for any program component or module falls below 80% at any time during the <br />program including clinical internship, (an authorized Leave of Absence is not affected by <br />this policy), tardiness exceeding 20% of classes to date or any 3 attendance issues in a <br />30 day period. <br />Conduct Poor conduct consists of the following: disruptive, disrespectful, intoxicated or drugged <br />behavior, possession of alcohol, drugs, or weapons on school premises, theft of property, <br />cheating on examinations, and repeated violations of school dress code, harassment or <br />discrimination of any kind. Profanity and inciting disruptive behavior. All conduct rules <br />apply to the classrooms, school buildings, parking areas and clinical sites. <br />Financial Failing to meet financial obligations to the school and/or failure to comply with Financial Aid <br />rules and directives. <br />Removal from Probation Status <br />Students placed on probation will immediately be contacted by the Program Director who will outline a <br />plan which will allow the student to lift probation. Failure to remove probationary status, as outlined <br />below, will result in suspension or dismissal. <br />Academic Raise cumulative GPA average to at least 70% within 30-days after being placed on <br />probation. <br />Attendance Immediately increase & maintain attendance at or above 80% for the duration of the <br />probationary period. No further tardiness in excess of 20% of classes to date. <br />Conduct No further infractions. <br />Financial Adherence to the plan developed by the Financial Aid Director or Accounting Manager. <br />VA Students <br />If after 60 days on probation a VA student's grade point average or attendance remains below the <br />graduation requirements, the student's VA benefits will be terminated. However, the student can <br />continue enrollment subject to regular school academic policies. <br />The student cannot be re -certified for VA educational benefits until he/she has met academic and <br />attendance requirements. <br />-Published January 1, 2020/ Effective through December 31, 2020 All Rights Reserved 9 __ _ _ _ _ Visit us at wlriv,ndschool.edu <br />
