MORGAN, Puxe�nr.0 P.nnaa <br />CHURCH PHONE "141 8350932 <br />- <br />May 109 1977 <br />Resolution <br />Whereas: the 1972 (latest Discipline of the African Methodi3t Episcopal <br />Church) on page 48, section 3 under the heading of Local Church <br />Property states: " The Board of Trustees elected by the local <br />church, in the manner provided by the African Methodist <br />Episcopal Discipline, may take such atops to affect a trans— <br />fer of property, both real and personal, in accordance with <br />the provisions of the Articles of incorporation of the <br />African Methodist Episcopal Church, provided that such trans- <br />fer has been approved by resolution in the quarterly con- <br />ference of said church, and by the trustees of the annual <br />oonforenco in which property is located, and of which the <br />presiding Bishop is president. 4 <br />Whereas: the Discipline further states an the same page and in the same <br />section under the heading of Mortgaging and Selling Property: <br />If and when the property has been incorporated, all such <br />real estate owned or thereafter acquired by the local in— <br />cprpbrators shall be dseded to it in its corporate name. <br />1. The said corporation shall have the pacer to sell, convey, <br />and dispose of property, both real and personal, in fee <br />simple and otherwise. <br />2; The proceeds of such sale shall be in trust for the <br />African Methodist Episcopal Church or disbursed for <br />another improvement of such otherproperties owned by it or <br />to be purchased by it. <br />ON property shall be sold except with the approval of the <br />quarterly conference by resolution. <br />The Board of Trustees or inccrporatcro of the church pro- <br />perty, elected and organized as prescribed in the Discipline <br />of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, shall have the <br />power to mortgage or encumber property of the charge or cor— <br />poration for purposes known to be for the Brost interest of <br />the congrogation provi s d such action has bane authorized by <br />majority vote of the membership present in a Church Con— <br />
