SANTA ANA VENTURES, INC. I 1821 E. NEWPORT CIR. SANTA ANA, CA 92705
Additionally, we continue to look for local programs and nonprofits in which we can support to help our
community grow.
4 Mercy House
® At Mercy House their goal and mission is simple: to end the homelessness for those they
serve. With the help of all their supporters, each year they place hundreds of individuals
and a growing number of families in permanent housing while also saving hundreds more
from becoming homeless in the first place.
® Mercy House provides housing and comprehensive supportive services for a variety of
homeless populations which includes families, adult men and women, mothers and their
children, persons living with HIV/AIDS, individuals overcoming substance addictions, and
some who are physically and mentally disabled.
® They strive to assist their residents in the areas of economic, emotional, and spiritual
well-being in order to enhance self-esteem and a sense of personal pride. They value
accountability, integrity, and self-sufficiency. The dignity of the individual person and the
corresponding respect that follows is the guiding principle of our service to the homeless
person.
® Mission Statement: To be a leader in ending homelessness by providing a unique system
of dignified housing opportunities, programs, and supportive services.
® OUR CONTRIBUTION: Encourage our employees and their families to volunteer. Kara
Nguyen said they mostly need people who are able to show up the same time every week
so they know have committed volunteers.
Orange County Catholic Worker (Isaiah House):
® They seek to offer sustenance for the body, but also for the heart and soul. They reach out
to those who are forgotten and alone, hoping to offer healing through friendship and
commitment. They try to help one another to be living signs of Christ's love by doing the
corporal works of mercy at a personal sacrifice.
® They do their work as a gift, and share the gifts they receive directly with the poor. They
offer good food, over 3000 meals each week. They offer their home as a place where all
can be transformed by serving those in need. They offer an open door to those most at risk
on the streets. They offer clothes and other necessities to those facing homelessness.
® The Mission of the Orange County Catholic Worker is:
• To be a community seeking God by living with the poor
• To share dignity through home -cooked meals, friendship, and the offering of
shelter and other basic services;
5
