Pursuant to California Labor Code Section 1735. as added by Chaptcr 643 Stats. 1939, and as amended, no discrimination shall be made in the employment of persons upon public works because of race, religious creed, color, national origin, anccstty, physical handicaps, mental condition, marital status, or sex of such persons, except as provided in Section 1420, and any consultant of public works violating this Section is subject to all the penalties imposed for a violation ofthe Chapter.
