State Licensure Requirements <br />Graduates of the Registered Nursing program must meet the Licensure requirements of the Board of <br />Registered Nursing (BRN) in order to practice in California including: <br />• Appropriate Fees payable to Board of Registered Nursing. <br />• Completed "Application for Licensure by Examination", including U.S. Social Security Number <br />(SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). <br />• Completed fingerprints using either the Live Scan Process or the Applicant Fingerprint Card (Hard <br />Card) processing method. <br />• Submit one recent 2"x2" passport -type photograph. <br />• If applicable: Complete "Request for Accommodation of Disabilities" form(s). <br />• Transcripts sent directly from your school of nursing. <br />• If applicable: Documents and/or letters explaining prior convictions or disciplinary action and <br />attesting to your rehabilitation as directed in the "Reporting Prior Convictions or Discipline <br />Against Licenses". <br />Further details of Registered Nursing Licensure requirements in California are available online at: <br />https://rn.ca.gov/applicants/index.shtml. <br />State Boards of Nursing in many states require graduation from an approved school of nursing. Please be <br />aware that if you are deemed eligible for licensure in California using another method of qualifying (i.e., <br />military experience or equivalent education and experience) you may not be eligible for licensure by <br />endorsement in other states. <br />Registered Nursing graduates intending to practice in another state must meet licensing requirements in <br />that state prior to practice.
