RESOLUTION NO. 2021-XXX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CONSIDER <br />CHANGES TO BOUNDARY LINES OF WARDS, AND <br />FIXING THEDATE,TIME AND PLACE OF SAID <br />HEARINGS THEREON <br />WHEREAS,In2020thefederaldecennialcensuswasconductedandcensus <br />data wasrecentlyreleasedbythefederal government. <br />WHEREAS,pursuanttoCalifornia FmfdujpotDpef Section21621,afterthe <br />federaldecennial census,theCity CouncilshalladoptboundariesofallCouncilwards. <br />WHEREAS,SantaAnaCharterSection101.4requiresthat,beforemakingany <br />change,modificationorrealignmentofwardboundaries,theCityCouncilshallpassa <br />resolution declaring its intention to make such change. <br />WHEREAS, The City Council will set Public Hearing dates and locations in which <br />any person having an interest in, objection to, or suggestion regarding the making of <br />changes in ard boundary lines may appear before the City Council and be heard <br />thereon. <br />WHEREAS, Santa Ana Charter Section 101.4 provides that the City Council shall <br />directtheClerkoftheCounciltogivenoticeofsaidhearingsbypublishingthis <br />Resolution once a week for two weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the City. <br />NOW,THEREFORE,THECITYCOUNCILOFTHECITYOFSANTAANA <br />RESOLVESASFOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1.TheCityCouncilherebydeclares its intentiontoconsidermaking <br />changes,modificationsor realignmentofward boundaries. <br />SECTION 2.PublicHearingdatestoconsidermakingchangestocurrentward <br />boundarylinesareherebyscheduledforOctober5,2021at7:00p.m.,October19, <br />2021at7:00p.m.,November2,2021at7:00p.m.,November16,2021at7:00p.m., <br />andDecember7,2021at7:00p.m.Thefirsttwo(2) PublicHearingswillseekinput <br />regardingpossiblechangestothewardboundariesbeforeanyproposedwardmap(s) <br />aredrawn.Thenexttwo(2) PublicHearingswillseekinputregardingthecontentof <br />the draft map(s).
