The project <br />which is one of seven grade separations within the OC <br />Bridges Program, included the construction of a vehicle <br />undercrossing rail bridge, a pump station, and the <br />relocation of multiple wet and dry utilities including the <br />owned by the Metropolitan Water District. <br />Raymond Avenue Grade Separation <br />Berg provided resident engineering, complete construction <br />Fullerton, CA <br />management and quality assurance services for the <br />2019 <br />project. Pump station work included fabrication and <br />City of Fullerton <br />installing piping, catwalks, and handrails with features <br />Ross Lew, PE <br />such as electrical systems, control systems, gas detection <br />Program Manager - Highway Programs, OCTA <br />systems, fall protection systems, and an intrusion detection <br />P: (714) 560-5775 <br />system. <br />E: rlew@octa.net <br />The Berg Team worked closely with third-party utilities – <br />the Metropolitan Water District (MWD), Southern California <br />Edison (SCE), AT&T, Time Warner Cable and SoCal Gas – to coordinate utility relocation sequencing. One <br />in order to perform bacteriological tests. It also required coordination with other projects occurring along <br />Staging of utility work so that existing utilities remained in service while installing new utilities became an <br />issue. To solve this, the Berg Team carefully modeled a work sequence that would ensure minimal impact <br />to businesses and residents during construction while maintaining the construction schedule.
