Also address integrity) <br />The Ida C. Wiesseman House is architecturally significant as a characteristic example of the gable -and -wing variant of the <br />style Minimal Traditional architectural style. It was built in 1948 by the Allison Honer Co., a key firm in the development of <br />Floral Park. The home was built for Mrs. Ida C. Wiesseman, (1872-1961) who became a widow in 1948. Before residing at <br />this property, she resided at 2411 North Park Blvd. with her husband Frank W. Wiesseman (1863-1930). Mr. and Mrs. <br />Wiesseman moved with their two youngest children from New York City between 1905 and 1910 and immediately started a <br />business known as the Wiesseman's Variety Store at 114 W. Fourth Street in Downtown Santa Ana. Between the years, <br />1910 and 1961, Wiesseman's Variety Store was an original stakeholder and neighborhood staple in Downtown Santa Ana. <br />The two were active in the First Methodist Church, and Mrs. Wiesseman was an active member of The Ebell Club. The family <br />was notable in business and social circles in Santa Ana. Mr. Wiesseman passed away in 1930 at the age of 68, and Mrs. <br />Wesseman in 1961 in her late 80s. Their daughter Helen, born in 1913 in Santa Ana, would reside in the home most of her <br />life until 1969. She would pass away in San Diego in 2004. In 1969, the home was sold to Jack and Laura Daley, about <br />whom little is known. <br />(See Continuation Sheet 3 of 3.) <br />1311.
