BOWERS <br />MUSEUM <br />. Community Input <br />Residents voiced a strong desire to celebrate and preserve the <br />city's history during all phases of the General Plan preparation, <br />including events such as the 2016 Celebrate Santa Ana event <br />(pictured above) and focused input such as the 2017 General <br />Plan Advisory Group meeting. This input led to the City's first -ever <br />element dedicated to historic preservation. <br />4 Bowers Museum <br />The city boasts hundreds of historic buildings both inside and outside <br />of local and national historic districts. The Bowers Museum is on Main <br />Street north of Downtown. Its opening in 1936 marked a turning <br />point for arts and cultural institutions in Santa Ana.
