Transit Hub. In 1985, the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center (SARTC) was erected on the site of the former
Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway depot that was built in 1933 and closed in 1992. The SARTC now serves as
the hub of Amtrak's Pacific Surfiiner and Metrolink's Orange County lines, and shares use of the railroad with the
Burlington -Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific, which serve the city's industrial sector. Santa Ana continues to lead
the rail revolution —most importantly, the planned OC Streetcar, set to begin operations in 2022/23. •
