&5 FREEWAY AND DYER ROAD <br />LAND USE AND URBAN FORM <br />The overall scale and experience of the focus <br />area along the freeway and city boundary <br />will reflect an urban intensity and design, <br />with inspiring building forms and public <br />spaces. At the southeastern edge, the District <br />Center land use designation will facilitate <br />large residential mixed -use developments in <br />remarkable structures that incorporate high <br />density housing, hotels, and complementary <br />expansions of commercial uses. Adjacent to <br />the 55 freeway, the Industrial/Flex land use <br />designation will promote large-scale office - <br />industrial flex spaces, multilevel corporate <br />offices, and research and development uses in <br />beautiful and creative buildings and spaces. <br />Each new development will contribute to the <br />creation of activated and people -oriented <br />spaces, accessible and visible through roadways <br />*nd pedestrian networks designed to connect <br />projects internally and throughout the focus <br />area. <br />The node surrounding the freeway interchange <br />will remain as currently planned for General <br />Commercial uses, with new improvements <br />introducing highly functional and attractive <br />development, spaces that complement the <br />existing examples, and elements that exemplify <br />dynamic urban design and architecture. <br />• <br />4 <br />5 <br />
