• Demonstrate competency in using contemporary tools and technologies to screen, assess, treat, and evaluate <br />client progress in real world situations. <br />• Analyze how treatment can improve interpersonal relationships across cultural boundaries in a variety of <br />treatment settings. <br />• In addition to the discipline -specific outcomes, general education literacies and professional competencies are <br />integrated throughout the program. <br />OCCUPATIONAL OBJECTIVES <br />The objective is to meet the requirement and demand for certified counselors, secure employment, and provide the <br />student with possible advancement opportunities. This course meets the education requirements to register with <br />California Association for Alcohol Drug Educators — Addiction Counselor Certification Board of California (CAADE's <br />ACCBC). For further details in receiving certification in the field of recovery and obtaining field credentials through <br />ACCBC please visit their website at https://www.accbc.org In addition, the program exceeds the didactic and <br />supervised fieldwork internship requirement standards of the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and <br />Professionals (CCAPP) for future certification. For further details in receiving certification in the field of recovery <br />and obtaining field credentials through CCAPP please visit their website at https://www.ccapp.us Graduates <br />applying for future CADC-1 credentials must have achieved a grade of "C" or better in all core modules. <br />This Bachelor of Applied Science Degree program is designed to provide the required knowledge and training to <br />prepare graduates to apply for additional/optional CCAPP (California Consortium of Addiction Programs and <br />Professionals) Specialty Certifications including CCS / Certified Clinical Supervisor, COP / Certified Criminal Justice <br />Professional, CCPS / California Certified Prevention Specialist, CRPM / Certified Recovery Program Manager, MATS <br />/ Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist, IS / Intervention Specialist, and WTS / Women's Treatment Specialist. <br />GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS <br />In order to graduate, students must: <br />1. Earn the required total number of credits for the degree <br />2. Pass all required courses with a minimum grade of a C <br />3. Complete required coursework within the maximum time frame permitted. <br />4. Earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above. <br />5. Achieve a minimum 80% cumulative attendance. <br />BACHELOR'S DEGREE APPLICATION PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS <br />1. All applicants must participate in an Admissions interview conducted by the Director of Admissions ordesignee. <br />2. Submit an application to InterCoast Colleges. All applications must be complete. No partial applications will be <br />accepted. <br />3. Submit official transcripts from all post -secondary institutions attended. A maximum number of credits maybe <br />transferred from an accredited college or university in accordance with the InterCoast Colleges transfer credit <br />policy as stated in the school catalog. Transferability of credit from other institutions must be substantially <br />similar to course content required in the program. All final decisions regarding the acceptance of transfer <br />credits are made by the Acceptance Committee and InterCoast College's school official. <br />4. California certification is preferred. If certified, applicant is required to provide documentation. If thecandidate <br />is not currently certified the applicant will be required to enroll in a "no -credit" exam preparation course with <br />InterCoast Colleges to prepare for the certification examination. <br />5. Arrangements for payment of all tuition and fees must be completed during the admissions process andprior <br />to interview with the acceptance committee panel. <br />6. Submission of a complete application, including tuition arrangements, transfer credit records, state <br />certification, if applicable, is required in orderto schedule the acceptance committee panel interview.
