EXEMPT FROM FEES PURUSANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 6103 <br />Kdo 12/23/02 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-07 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA PLACING <br />THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 419 EAST WELLINGTON <br />STREET WITHIN AN ESTABLISHED CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On November 3, 1997, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana by <br />Resolution number 97-046A placed the following historic properties on the <br />Santa Ana Register of Historic Properties: <br />Historic Name Address <br />Catland Home 419 East Wellington Street, Santa Ana <br />B. The Catland Home, located at 419 East Wellington Street, Santa Ana has <br />a distinctive architectural style and quality in the unusual stylistic blending <br />of the Victorian and Craftsman Bungalow styles. <br />1. The Victorian elements include the elongated windows and doors, a <br />prominent bay .on the east side, teas drops, and a wide shiplap <br />siding trimmed with corner boards. The gable roof, single exposed <br />beam ends, rafter tails, and louvered.vents represent the Craftsman <br />Bungalow style. <br />2. The structure is also characteristic of a significant period in the <br />history of Santa Ana as is was the home to the Titchenel family, <br />one of Santa Ana's most prominent pioneer families. The occupied <br />the house on a property that covered the whole block and later sold <br />it to William Spurgeon for subdivision and became what is now <br />known at the Titchenel addition. <br />3. The legal owner of the subject property is Wayne L. Small. <br />4.
