ROSS STREET, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2022-10 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE <br />CATEGORY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines, and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On September 8, 2022, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2022-20) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2022-10) of the William T. Elliott House located at <br />2222 N. Ross Street, Santa Ana. <br />B. The William T. Elliott House has distinctive architectural features of the <br />Minimal Traditional style and was built in 1940. <br />C. The William T. Elliott qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Register under <br />Criterion 1 for its exemplification of the Gable-and-Wing variant of the <br />Minimal Traditional style. Built in 1940 by the development team of H. C. <br />Head and Roy Russell, the house features the characteristic massing of <br />the variant enhanced by three tiers of nested gables over the f ront-gabled <br />wing. The recommended categorization is “Contributive” because it <br />contributes to the overall character and history of Floral Park and is <br />representative example of Minimal Traditional architecture. Character- <br />defining features of the William T. Elliott House that should be preserved <br />include, but may not be limited to: materials and finishes (stucco siding); <br />massing, roof configuration and treatment (three tiers of nested gables <br />over the front-gabled wing); porch with lacy wrought iron porch supports; <br />brick chimney; bay window with brick base and standing seam roof; <br />fenestration (wood-framed, two-over-two windows); and architectural <br />detailing. <br />D. The legal owner of the property is Eriq Dominguez. <br />E.
