S <br />486� <br />The geographical area of focus for this project is central Santa <br />Ana, an area of 3.3 square miles that makes up the 92701 zip <br />code. Demographically, Santa Ana is 79% Latino, with many <br />foreign -born households, and a relatively young population. The <br />area encompasses the city's civic center, the Downtown Santa <br />Ana business district, and residential homes and apartment <br />complexes. Central Santa Ana was designated as one of The <br />California Endowment's Building Healthy Communities sites and <br />{ .t <br />parts of this focus area fall within the Santa Ana Federal <br />Empowerment Zone designation that concluded in 2015. <br />=- <br />Residential areas are predominantly low-income and have high <br />� r <br />population densities.
