Return FULLLY EXECUTED
Copy io COTS, M-30
Family Justice Center Affiliation
Memorandum of Understanding
N-2023-013
The Family Justice Center Alliance (Alliance), a program of Alliance for HOPE International, serves
as a clearinghouse, research center, and advocacy organization for all Family Justice and Multi -
Agency Centers. The Alliance also serves as the technical assistance and training provider for the
United States Department of Justice for federally funded Family Justice and Multi -Agency Centers.
Since the creation of the first Family Justice Center in San Diego in 2002, the Alliance has been
working towards the creation of Family Justice Centers and similar Multi -Agency Centers across
the United States and around the world. As a result, the Alliance has begun to set more definitive
standards and definitions in order to ensure quality and trauma -informed service provision for
survivors and their families in all Centers. While organic and community -based Solutions are the
best solution to complex social problems, adhering to the Family Justice Center Guiding
Principles and committing to integrated work among partner agencies can help enhance victim
safety and offender accountability.
The Alliance has two categories of affiliation: Affiliated MUlti-Agency Centers and Affiliated Family
Justice Centers, The difference between a Multi -Agency Center and a Family Justice Center is
the number of onsite partner agencies, the presence of full-time versus part-time core partner
agencies and professionals, and the utilization of a Centralized Intake system.
Affiliated Centers are specially designated by the Alliance every two years. Centers affiliated with the
Alliance have demonstrated the integration of the Family Justice Center Guiding Principles, their
policies and procedures are in accordance with best practices, and leadership is involved and
participates with the Alliance on a regular basis as defined below.
Centers may apply to become affiliated with the Alliance. The Alliance continues to provide technical
assistance to Centers, affiliated or not, through various methods such as monthly webinars and
Directors Calls, online Resource Library, and approved onsite technical assistance. The affiliation
process is not federally funded and is not associated with any federal funding.
Roles and Responsibilities of Alliance for HOPE International
The Alliance agrees to the following in supporting the Santa Ana Family Justice Center and its entire
network of affiliated Centers:
• Recognize the Santa Ana Family Justice Center as an affiliated Multi -Agency Center
• Maintain updated profile and contact information on the national website "Find an FJC" feature
• Provide the benefits listed below:
* Letters of Support for Grants, as requested by the Center
* National Spotlight of the Center
