OPEN DOOR ADMISSIONS POLICY <br />• Roadmaster admission is open to all applicants who desire to obtain a career skill in professional truck driving. <br />• Applicants are screened by interview with an admissions advisor to determine their ability to benefit from the training provided. <br />AFFIRMATIVE ACTION POLICY AND NONDISCRIMINATION STATEMENT <br />• All applicants are interviewed and considered for admission without regard to race, creed, age, gender, religion, national origin, disa- <br />bility, handicap, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable <br />law except where age, sex, or physical status is a bona fide occupational qualification. <br />• All considerations for educational opportunities are provided free of any and all discriminatory practices. <br />• Any applicant expressing interest in training opportunities offered by Roadmaster is given full encouragement to make application for <br />admission. <br />• Roadmaster recognizes and fulfills its obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act of <br />1973, and similar state laws. These Acts prohibit discrimination on the basis of a disability and require reasonable accommodations to <br />qualified individuals with disabilities. <br />ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS <br />• Interview with an Admissions Advisor or Agent. <br />• Be eighteen (18) years of age to drive intrastate or at least twenty- one (21) years of age to drive interstate. <br />• Be beyond the age of compulsory high School attendance. <br />• Have a valid driver's license in your possession at the time of enrollment. <br />• Provide a social security card and valid government issued photo identification. <br />• Complete enrollment agreement. <br />• Obtain an acceptable US Department of Transportation physical and acceptable US Department of Transportation verified negative <br />drug screen in accordance with FMCSA regulations. (The approximate cost of physical and drug screen is $160 which is not included <br />in tuition). <br />• Have a satisfactory criminal background and motor vehicle record. <br />• Agree to remain drug free and agree to random, post -accident and suspicion -based drug and/or alcohol testing during training, <br />• Able to sufficiently read and speak the English language to converse with the general public; to understand highway traffic signs and <br />signals in the English language; to respond to official inquiries; to make entries on reports and records, as required by applicable <br />FMCSA regulations (See Additional Special Entrance Requirements below); <br />• No language services are provided; instruction is in English only. <br />• Receive recommendation by Admissions Advisor of eligibility for acceptance. <br />• Pay all fees including registration fee, if applicable, as reflected on the enrollment agreement. <br />• Acceptance of application by School Manager. <br />ADDITIONAL SPECIAL ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />All applicants must supply proof of (1) secondary education (United States High School Diploma or Equivalent); *(2) successful completion or <br />equivalent of one full-fime academic semesteror quarter at an accredited United States postsecondary school;* or (3) proven ability -to -benefit by <br />obtaining minimum acceptable raw score of 200 by taking the Wonderlic Verbal examination, computer version. The Education Department ad- <br />ministers the test An applicant may take a second entrance test the same day as selected by the Wonderlic system. Two versions are used by <br />Roadmaster and the computer will automatically select the opposite version of the one the student previously took and failed. These requirements <br />apply to applicants in addifion to the General Entrance Requirements named above. <br />*Proof of secondary education or proof of post -secondary education (1) and (2) above, must be from programs taught exclusively in English. <br />PROFESSIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS <br />According to California's Commercial Driver Handbook, in order to get a CDL Learners Permit, applicants must be at least 18 years old <br />and must have a valid driver license. To get a California CDL, applicants must be at least 18 years old for intrastate driving and must be at <br />least 21 years old for interstate driving. Applicants must also supply the following: completed CDL application, true full name, an approved <br />Medical Exam Report Form, an acceptable birth date/legal presence document, social security card, a certificate of driving skill, and the <br />application fee.
