80 <br />Course Descriptions <br />Lower Division Occupational, Technical and Other Courses <br />BUS101:Introduction <br />This course is an introduction to business administration and management, marketing, <br />to Business <br />finance, human resources, and economics in the American marketplace. Aspects of business, <br />including the relationship of business to the social, economic, and political worlds will be <br />covered. The history of the American economy, and a comparison of the free enterprise <br />system to other economic systems, will be discussed. Considers scope, function and <br />organization of business, including principles and practices, with an integrated global <br />perspective. <br />Prerequisite: None <br />40 Hours Lecture <br />4.0 Quarter Credits <br />BUS201: Business <br />This course is designed for all business students and provides students with basic skills and <br />Mathematics <br />understanding of mathematics including practices and the use of common formulas. Also, this <br />course will assist students in reaching a level of increased competence in mathematics and <br />expanded understanding of the applications of mathematical concepts in business activities. <br />Emphasis is placed upon learning mathematical concepts through practical application to <br />common business problems. A review of basic math functions is provided with emphasis on <br />practical mathematical problems. The course will familiarize students with basic math theory <br />emphasizing those components making up a business accounting formula.
