Test Out Evaluation Any student may request the opportunity to test out of a course, based on the student's <br />previous experience. The student must take the final exam for the course not more than 30 <br />days prior to the start of class. To receive course credit, the student must earn a score of at <br />least 70%. No letter grade will be given for any transfer or test out course. <br />Course Numbering Course Numbering System <br />System Courses numbered 1-199 are introductory courses; Certificate programs, courses numbered <br />200 and higher are more specialized courses regarding the topic within that department. <br />100-299 are associate degree level, 300-499 are baccalaureate degree level, and 500-699 are <br />graduate level courses at the master's degree level in that given department. Courses that <br />are to be taken consecutively are generally numerically consecutive (ex., CIT101, and CIT102) <br />unless Indicated otherwise. Courses with a prerequisite are listed in the course description <br />and syllabus. <br />For Examples, <br />• Computers use a letter followed by three numbers. Example: C101 or D203. The <br />designations are C for general computer courses, N for network related courses, D <br />for data or database related courses, V is for visual, G is for graphics courses, and R <br />is for router related courses. <br />• Real Estate program use the letter B followed by three numbers such as B401 <br />• The General Contractor courses are designated by the license number for a <br />particular trade. For instance, C6 Cabinet, Millwork and Finish Carpentry Contractor. <br />These designations are determined by the California Contractors Licensing Board. <br />• EFL programs are designated by the level of the course. Example: EFL for <br />Intermediate Students which has modules 3A Intermediate, 3B High Intermediate. <br />These are common designation for ESL and EFL programs. <br />Course Letter Descriptor <br />• CIT: Computer Information Technology <br />• N : Networking <br />• R:Router Technology <br />• D : Database <br />• B : Real Estate <br />• GC : General Contractor <br />• C-: Contractor <br />• CG:Computer Graphics <br />• BUS : Business <br />• ENG, MAT, PHIS, SOC, BIO, COM, PSY, ANTH : General Education <br />• -C : Certificate <br />• FIN : Finance <br />• MGT: Management <br />• HRM : Human Resource Management <br />• ORG : Organizational Behavior <br />• QNT: Quantitative Analysis <br />• CAP: Capstone <br />• LAW: Law <br />• MKT: Marketing <br />• EFL : English as a Foreign Language <br />• TOEFL iBT: Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet Based Test <br />Last Revision Date on April 4, 2023 <br />
