Understanding of Need NUVIS understands the City of Santa Ana is seeking a highly qualified team of professionals to provides landscape architectural design services with support civil, electrical and environmental services for various project assignments through an 'on -call' or 'as -needed' basis. Projects may include, but are not limited to: design of new parks; master planning of existing parks, sports fields & court renovations; skate parks; dog parks; bike trails; site lighting; water conservation; habitat restoration; urban forestry; landscape renovations; irrigation renovations; and/or interpretative signage. The projects indicated in the RFP require a highly qualified team who has park and recreational design experience and noted expertise in their individual disciplines. The City is seeking Teams with direct park and recreational planning design experience that incorporates sustainable environmental design, LID, landscape, and irrigation conforming to MWELO and other waterwise ordinances, consideration for maintenance needs while staying in tune with current trends. Based on NUVIS' nearly 52 years of professional landscape architecture experience, we anticipate the type of projects above will benefit from a Team that will provide a comprehensive approach to the scope of services. We anticipate providing a wide range of services, including, but limited to: • Programming, Conceptual Design, and Site Master Planning • Community Design Charettes, Workshops and Meetings • Meetings and Presentations to City, Governing Agencies and Stakeholders • Feasibility Studies and Site Analysis • Utility Research and Coordination • Maps and Mapping Services, including Survey and Base Mapping • Construction Documents including Plans and Technical Specifications • Statements of Probable Construction Cost • Permitting • Environmental Documentation including CEQA and NEPA • Development of Storm Water Best Management Practices and Protection Plans • Development of Water Quality Management Plans (WQMP) • Quality Control and Quality Assurance through the life of a project • Professional Services during Bid Phase • Professional Services during Construction Phase • Close Out and Record Drawings Services Methodology/Approach to the Anticipated Scope of Services NUVIS is a strong proponent of participatory planning and design, believing that the goals and direction of a project should evolve from a process which provides for expression of concerns and values of those involved and affected by the project. We enjoy the process of working with the community and its various organizations and groups to build a consensus of ideas that encourages interactive opportunities for a variety of age and user groups. We believe that one of the keys to the success of the project is effective and thorough communication between the Agency and design team to identify and resolve issues, thus allowing the necessary services to proceed quickly and efficiently.
