Understanding of Need <br />NUVIS understands the City of Santa Ana is seeking a highly qualified team of professionals to <br />provides landscape architectural design services with support civil, electrical and environmental <br />services for various project assignments through an 'on -call' or 'as -needed' basis. Projects may <br />include, but are not limited to: design of new parks; master planning of existing parks, sports <br />fields & court renovations; skate parks; dog parks; bike trails; site lighting; water conservation; <br />habitat restoration; urban forestry; landscape renovations; irrigation renovations; and/or <br />interpretative signage. <br />The projects indicated in the RFP require a highly qualified team who has park and recreational <br />design experience and noted expertise in their individual disciplines. The City is seeking Teams <br />with direct park and recreational planning design experience that incorporates sustainable <br />environmental design, LID, landscape, and irrigation conforming to MWELO and other <br />waterwise ordinances, consideration for maintenance needs while staying in tune with current <br />trends. <br />Based on NUVIS' nearly 52 years of professional landscape architecture experience, we <br />anticipate the type of projects above will benefit from a Team that will provide a comprehensive <br />approach to the scope of services. We anticipate providing a wide range of services, including, <br />but limited to: <br />• Programming, Conceptual Design, and Site Master Planning <br />• Community Design Charettes, Workshops and Meetings <br />• Meetings and Presentations to City, Governing Agencies and Stakeholders <br />• Feasibility Studies and Site Analysis <br />• Utility Research and Coordination <br />• Maps and Mapping Services, including Survey and Base Mapping <br />• Construction Documents including Plans and Technical Specifications <br />• Statements of Probable Construction Cost <br />• Permitting <br />• Environmental Documentation including CEQA and NEPA <br />• Development of Storm Water Best Management Practices and Protection Plans <br />• Development of Water Quality Management Plans (WQMP) <br />• Quality Control and Quality Assurance through the life of a project <br />• Professional Services during Bid Phase <br />• Professional Services during Construction Phase <br />• Close Out and Record Drawings Services <br />Methodology/Approach to the Anticipated Scope of Services <br />NUVIS is a strong proponent of participatory planning and design, believing that the goals and <br />direction of a project should evolve from a process which provides for expression of concerns <br />and values of those involved and affected by the project. We enjoy the process of working with <br />the community and its various organizations and groups to build a consensus of ideas that <br />encourages interactive opportunities for a variety of age and user groups. <br />We believe that one of the keys to the success of the project is effective and thorough <br />communication between the Agency and design team to identify and resolve issues, thus <br />allowing the necessary services to proceed quickly and efficiently.
