In <br />addition to having a solid understanding of parks and <br />recreation projects, we have experience and expertise <br />in innovative sustainable environmental design, <br />low impact development, water wise landscaping + <br />irrigation, current trends, and maintenance needs. <br />Many of the architectural and landscape architectural <br />roots in the Studio were founded upon working <br />with local city governments through incremental <br />improvement projects to revitalize existing <br />communities and open spaces, each with unique <br />identities and context. Our past parks and streetscape <br />projects have led to the transformation of the public <br />realm in multiple cities such as Third Street in <br />Long Beach, Sherman Way in Reseda, Paramount <br />Boulevard in Paramount, and Sepulveda Boulevard in <br />Westchester. Our planning and visioning efforts have <br />paved the way for revitalization in downtown Lomita, <br />Glendale, Torrance, and Long Beach. As champions <br />of human -centered design, we make sure that our <br />solutions respect and enhance the communities we <br />work with. <br />We understand that small interventions can provide <br />large impacts to existing public spaces and can <br />address many needs simultaneously such as <br />accessibility, sustainability, safety, aesthetics, as well <br />as address the ever -evolving needs for end -users. <br />Studio One Eleven's project team has experience <br />working within the many diverse neighborhoods of <br />Los Angeles and Orange Counties. We are a trusted <br />partner for numerous public agencies in Southern <br />California for on -call and peer review services <br />including the cities of Long Beach, Huntington Beach, <br />Paramount, Newport Beach, Anaheim, Downey, El <br />Monte and the County of Los Angeles Department <br />of Parks and Recreation. Our expertise is focused <br />on designing and implementing impactful projects at <br />a variety of scales, addressing the complex issues <br />affecting the daily lives of diverse city dwellers today <br />and into the future. Through our work, we have <br />created more vibrant and welcoming public spaces <br />that have become beloved community destinations for <br />people to live, work, and play. Our firm is known for its <br />innovative, collaborative, and sustainable approach <br />to community -oriented design. We are well versed <br />in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design <br />(CPTED) with focus on natural crime prevention <br />strategies and sustainability in addition to Nature <br />Based Solutions for stormwater management and <br />striking water -wise and low maintenance planting <br />design. <br />Looking for potential to enhance the character and <br />vitality of the public realm is built into our design <br />culture. We have worked with numerous clients <br />to develop innovative plans and visioning efforts <br />that successfully combine design excellence with <br />funding opportunities. For example, our work for <br />the City of Bellflower looked beyond a specific <br />improvement project to include visioning for a block - <br />long streetscape enhancement proposal. A series of <br />sketches were reviewed with the City Manager and <br />presented to the Public Works Director. As a result of <br />our efforts, the City was able to secure a $1 million <br />Caltrans grant to fund public realm enhancements. <br />Additionally, our recent design leadership on the <br />Rancho Los Cerritos Stormwater Reclamation Plan <br />and the Oak View Neighborhood Beautification Plan <br />received a combined $9 million in grants. <br />
