BRACE CANYON PARK, BURBANK
Project Description: Brace Canyon Park includes existing
natural grass sports fields over an existing concrete reservoir
as well as an unpaved walking path. The city has eliminated
the use of pesticides in their park programs and seeks to
reduce the use of water so they chose to replace the natural
fields with synthetic turf. The concrete reservoir is roughly
30" below existing grades and was built in the 1940's. Load
requirements and access points are critical design criteria
that must be followed. Verde Design is currently designing
construction drawings for this project.
Client: City of Burbank
Nick Heilein, Assistant Superintendent of Business
24930 Avenue Stanford
Santa Clarita, CA 91355
661.295.5306 1 nheinlein@saugus.org
Services: Master planning, conceptual design, public
outreach, consensus building, and construction documents
Program:
• Synthetic turf replacement of natural fields
• Striping for softball, flag football, soccer and lacrosse
• New sports fencing
• New all weather track surfacing
• Spectator seating
• Stormwater quality improvements
Consultant PM: Chris Giannini
Size: 4.6 acres
Construction Cost: N/A (in design)
Schedule: In design phase
LANDSC PEA HITEC U IVIL EN fNEERING SPORT PLANNI(VG &DESIGN 15
