Upon completion of this program, the student will take the <br />certification exam to become a Certified Bookkeeper in the module "Mastering Adjusting Entries". <br />Course Objectives <br />• The participants should be able to record business transactions into an accounting system <br />• Prepare and interpret major financial reports. <br />• Understand the accounting process and to develop skills necessary to evaluate au enterprise's financial <br />position and its operating, investing, and financing activities <br />• Provide the latest up to date on changes in bookkeeping and accounting rules and regulations <br />Course Delivery Option: Classroom, Online/Distance Learning <br />Sequence and frequency of class sessions: Every 6 weeks <br />Related Job Titles/Occupations <br />Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing, SOC Code 43-3031 <br />Office clerks, General- OC Code 43-9061 <br />Instruction Details <br />Principles of Accounting: This course concentrates on the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). <br />Topics include analyzing, journalizing, and posting transactions, adjusting entries, completion of the worksheet, <br />financial statements, and the closing process for a service business, Accounting for Cash, Payroll Accounting, and <br />the Combination Journal are also covered. <br />Certification in Bookkeeping module — "Mastering Adjusting Entries": The module is focused on the accrual <br />basis of accounting. The students will learn and have hands-on experience preparing from an unadjusted trial <br />balance to preparing Financial Statements. <br />Computerized Accounting: Student will learn on Microsoft Excel how to prepare Journal Entries, Trial Balances, <br />Adjusting Entries, and Financial Statements.
