Code of Conduct for Students <br />The Code of Conduct is intended to ensure that all students have access to a safe and secure environment <br />where disruption and behaviors of another student will not interfere with the learning process. Faculty <br />and staff have the authority to protect this right by creating and maintaining an environment that is <br />conducive to learning. Students are required and expected to conduct themselves in a mature and <br />considerate manner. Students should conduct and express themselves in a way that is respectful to all <br />individuals. This includes respecting the rights of others to comment and participate fully in class and <br />college activities. <br />Toward this end, Pacific College sets forth the following expectations of student conduct in classroom <br />environments and on college properties, while attending college -related events, and while interacting <br />with the community at -large: <br />• A student shall prepare for, regularly attend, and actively participate in class and class activities. <br />• A student shall commit to be courteous and respectful of other's opinions. <br />• A student shall be familiar with and responsible for following the policies and procedures of the <br />College. <br />• A student shall refrain from actions and involvements that may prove contrary to the policies of <br />the College or harm the College's reputation. <br />• A student shall avoid acts of academic misconduct such as cheating, plagiarism, or other activities <br />that are intended to gain unfair academic advantage. <br />• A student shall avoid acts of dishonesty such as forgery, alteration, or misuse of a College <br />document; knowingly providing false information to a College official; or misrepresenting one's <br />self to be an authorized agent of the College. <br />• A student shall not seek unauthorized entry into, have unauthorized presence in, or misuse <br />College property including virtual facilities online. <br />• A student shall not steal property or misappropriate College resources including unauthorized <br />recording, dissemination, or distribution of lectures or presentations protected by copyright. <br />• A student shall not conduct themselves in any way that threatens or endangers the health or <br />safety of any person within or related to the College community, including physical abuse, threats, <br />intimidation, harassment, or sexual misconduct. <br />• A student shall not disrupt or obstruct the College activities by acts or expression, nor infringe the <br />rights of any members of the College community. <br />• A student must not use, possess, manufacture, or distribute illegal drugs or drug -related <br />paraphernalia, nor shall they misuse legal pharmaceutical drugs. <br />• A student must not use, possess, manufacture, or distribute alcoholic beverages (except as <br />expressly permitted by law and College regulations), or be publicly intoxicated while on campus <br />or at a College -related activity. <br />Computer Lab Regulations <br />By using Pacific College computers, students agree to comply with the following regulations. <br />• No food or drink allowed in the Computer Lab <br />• Students may not install software on College computers. <br />• Computing resources in the lab are for College -related purposes only <br />• Use of cell phones in the lab is prohibited <br />• Loud or disruptive conversation is prohibited <br />• Computing resources shall be used in accordance with the high ethical standards of the College <br />community and local, state, and federal laws. <br />Pacific College 2022-2023 Catalog 39 <br />
