To the general public, the final results of a disciplinary proceeding, subject to the requirements of <br />§99.39, if the school determines the student is an alleged perpetrator of a crime of violence or non - <br />forcible sex offense and the student has committed a violation of the school's rules or policies with <br />respect to the allegation made against him or her. (§99.31(a)(14)) <br />To parents of a student regarding the student's violation of any Federal, State, or local law, or of any <br />rule or policy of the school, governing the use or possession of alcohol or a controlled substance if <br />the school determines the student committed a disciplinary violation and the student is under the <br />age of 21. (§99.31(a)(15)) <br />Grading System <br />It is the policy of Pacific College that the academic achievement of all students in all courses be indicated <br />using letter grades, and that those grades be based on a four -point scale and be determined using <br />common procedures, described below, in each course. The grading system for achievement in a class at <br />Pacific College is defined as follows: <br />Grade <br />Grade <br />Meaning <br />Points <br />Superior Achievement: Indicating excellence earned as a result of <br />consistently superior examination scores, consistently accurate and <br />A <br />prompt completion of assignments, ability to deal resourcefully with <br />4.0 <br />abstract ideas, superior mastery of pertinent skills, and promise of <br />excellence in field relating to the subject. <br />High Level of Achievement: Indicating competence earned as a result <br />of high examination scores, accurate and prompt completion of <br />B <br />assignments, ability to deal well with abstract ideas, commendable <br />3.0 <br />mastery of pertinent skills, and promise of continued success in <br />sequential courses. <br />Satisfactory Achievement: Indicating successful performance earned <br />as a result of satisfactory examination scores, generally accurate and <br />C <br />prompt completion of assignments, ability to deal with abstract ideas, <br />2.0 <br />average mastery of pertinent skills, and sufficient evidence of ability to <br />warrant entering sequential courses. <br />Marginal Achievement: Indicating the meeting of minimum <br />requirements only earned as a result of low examination scores, <br />D <br />generally inaccurate, incomplete or late assignments, inadequate grasp <br />1.0 <br />of abstract ideas, barely acceptable mastery of pertinent skills, or <br />insufficient evidence of ability to make enrollment in sequential <br />courses advisable. <br />Failure: Indicating failure to meet minimum requirements earned as a <br />F <br />result of non -passing examination scores, inaccurate, incomplete or <br />0.0 <br />late assignments, failure to grasp abstract ideas, inadequate mastery of <br />pertinent skills or repeated absence from class <br />P <br />Pass (Clinical component only) <br />IP <br />In Progress <br />TR <br />Transfer Credit <br />46 2022-2023 Catalog Pacific College <br />
